NOTICE OF ANNUAL GENERAL ELECTIONS – 2010-11
All the members of Lasbela Chamber of Commerce & Industry are hereby notified that the
Annual General Elections of the Chamber for two years’ term beginning from 1st October,
2010 will be held on 20th September, 2010 as per election schedule enclosed herewith and
subject to the notes mentioned below, at the office of the Chamber at Ground Floor, LIEDA
office Building, H.I.T.E., Hub, Lasbela under the provisions of Articles No. 33 of the
Memorandum & Articles of Association of the Chamber and Rules No. 20, 21 and 23 of the
Trade Organizations Rules – 2007 to elect six members of the Executive Committee in
place of the following six members who will stand retired on 30th September, 2010 after
completing their two years’ term.
1. Mr. Maqsood Ismail M/s. Ismail Industries Limited
2. Mr. Muhammad Sadiq Khanj M/s. Macpac Films Limited
3. Mr. Tariq Rafi M/s. Siddiqsons Denim Mills Limited
4. Mr. Yakoob H. Karim M/s. Pakistan Synthetics Limited
5. Mr. Badar D. Fakhari M/s. Galadari Cement (Gulf) Limited
6. Mr. Muhammad Salim Kapadia M/s. Kapadia Bela Textile Mills (Pvt) Limited.
The Provisional Voters’ List will be issued on 16th July, 2010 after making changes of the
names of Authorized Representatives, if any. It will contain the list of eligible voters in two
categories viz: Corporate and Associate Members in accordance with Article No. 5 of
Memorandum & Article of Association of the Chamber and the Rule No. 11 of Trade
Organizations Rules – 2007.
The distribution of seats of the Executive Committee amongst the Corporate and Associate
members would be in proportion of respective number of voters in the Provisional List of
Voters. The electoral college of each class of Executive Members would be the voters of the
respective class.

Since there is no Town Association affiliated with the Chamber, probable seats for Town
Associations will remain vacant.
The Election Schedule of the Chamber approved by the Executive Committee in its meeting
held on 9th July, 2010 has also been displayed at the Notice Board and the website of the
Chamber. The changes in the names of Authorized Representatives may be notified
immediately up to 13th July, 2010.
The Executive Committee in its meeting held on 9th July, 2010 has also constituted an
Election Commission in accordance with the provisions of Article No. 29 of the
Memorandum & Articles of Association and Rule No. 18 of the Trade Organizations Rules –
2007 comprising the following members to conduct the elections:-
1. Khwaja Salman Aziz M/s. Cera-e-Noor, Hub.
2. Mr. Usman Chapra M/s. Coastal Synthetics (Pvt) Limited, Hub.
3. Mr. Nazarul Islam M/s. Friends Traders, Uthal.
The Executive Committee formed after the elections shall meet on 23rd September, 2010 to
elect the President, Vice President for one year term and two executive members on the
seats reserved for women entrepreneurs of the Chamber for a two years term commencing
from 1st October, 2010.

Notes :-
1. The Final List of Voters and Nomination Forms would be issued on 23rd August, 2010.
The nomination forms would be issued on written request. The Provisional and Final List
of Voters would also be displayed at the Notice Board and website of the Chamber.
2. The Election Commission would be the in-charge of all election arrangements in
accordance with the provisions of Article No. 30 of the Memorandum & Articles of
Association of the Chamber and Rule No. 19 of Trade Organizations Rules – 2007.
3. The members who have made payment of their membership subscription for the year 2010-11
upto 31st March, 2010 and who have completed two years’ validity of their membership
with the Chamber on the date of issuance of election schedule would be included in the
Provisional List of Voters, in accordance with Article No. 33( c ) of the Memorandum
& Articles of Association of the Chamber and the Rule No. 17 of Trade Organizations
Rules – 2007.
4. The Voters are requested to kindly bring their Computerized National Identity Card or
Valid Passport or Valid Driving License at the time of polling for identification in
accordance with Article No. 33(e)(ii) of Memorandum and Articles of Association of the
Chamber and Rule No. 21(2) of the Trade Organizations Rules - 2007.
